Anger is a manifestation of a deeper issue… and that, for me, is based on insecurity, self-esteem and loneliness.

I’ve read this article on a magazine (I think it was Preview) about India and it really inspired me to go. My Dad really hates it there lol he keeps on telling why India? It’s so populated, dirty and the food is the worst but in spite of his comments towards India I still went and I had no regrets what was my Dad talking about, India is so lovely. Well Ana Kalaw the one who wrote the article was right. To quote her , “YOU CAN’T SIMPLY LOVE OR HATE INDIA. IT’S TOO BIG, TOO DIVERSE, TOO CULTURE-RICH FOR A SINGLE VERDICT”

Facts about INDIA: (That I’ve learned from our Guide-Sing)

    1. It’s the second most populous country in the world.

(he even made a joke that they are gonna top China soon)

    2. It has about 1.21 BILLION people, 1.26 MILLION in Delhi

    3. Most of the people practice Hinduism

(What I learned from our guide about hinduism is that, It is a religion not written in a book but it is a way of living. Something you learn from your parents which they learned from their parents. If you want to go the temple you can but your parents or not anyone else can force you to go.)

    4. New Delhi (Capital) is unsafe for single women. (Guide looks at me LOL)

    5. Highest country of Billionaires and also the highest number of poor people.

Surviving India: (what to bring for your trip)

    1. SUNBLOCK is a must (you shouldn’t buy there it’s MAD expensive)

    2. Bring umbrellas, hats and fans.

Guide(SING): Indians are known to have the strongest immune systems, I don’t know about you Filipinos.

Me: I beg to differ LOL

    4. Always wear comfy shoes. The walking is excruciating especially when you walk 5 kilometers around a temple and back to your bus.

    5. Never go to crowded places.

    6.  Showing your legs, upper arms, or any cleavage is frowned upon and you may have unwanted attentions from the local men in some cities in India but in cities like New Delhi it’s fine to wear anything you want except when you go inside mosques or religious temples. My advice better conservative clothes if you don’t want to be hit on by guys.

    7. Bring your chinese/vicks inhalers just in case you feel dizzy (if you know what I mean) wink2*

    New Delhi:

    India Gate

India Gate is a national monument of India. It was originally named All India Gate Memorial. It was designed and constructed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in the memory of 90,000 soldiers who laid down their lives during World War I. It was finally completed in the year 1931.

This monument originally was a Statue of King George but the people thought it was inappropriate to put up his statue near the most valued monuments in India.

Parliament house  and Government Secretariat building

Situated on Raisina Hill, New Delhi

Qutab Minar- The Pride of New Delhi

Qutab Minar was constructed by the famous Qutab-ud-din Aibak. It is a good example of  Indo-Islamic Afghan architecture. When you go to Delhi you must visit this place, it is surrounded by a a flourishing green garden.

Most visited monument attracting around 3.9 million visitors every year.

India’s Autorickshaws basically tricycles with meters, no limit as to
how many people ride it as long as it still moves.LOL

Taj Mahal is an epitome of love, a poem in marble walls are decorated with pietra dura (stone inlay). Taj Mahal is one of the 8 wonders of the world. Taj Mahal was built by a muslim emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved and favorite wife queen Mumtaz Mahal, fulfilling one of his promises to build a monument to match her beauty. Taj Mahal was built in 22 years and 22,000 workers labored. It cost 32 million rupees were spent during the construction of the monument.

This main gate of red sandstone, It is inscribed with verses from the Koran in Arabic.

It is one of the Unesco world heritage site.

Experiencing sunrise in Taj mahal was just simply breathtaking. Woke up at 5am to get ready and left the hotel at 6am to see the beautiful sunrise from the monument. Fellow travelers suggested a sunrise or a sunset as the best time to visit the Taj Mahal.

ADVICE: Pick early morning to go to the Taj Mahal lesser crowd and the temperature can go over 40 degrees so better go early it’s much more cooler.

    Agra Fort
This fortress of red sandstone encompasses, within its 2.5-km-long enclosure walls, the imperial city of the Mughal rulers was built by Emperor Akbar on the right bank of the Yamuna.

I soon hope to go to India again discover more of it’s wonderful treasures, travel to more cities and explore Indian culture.
